Welcome
Welcome to the Henfield Camera Club website. You do not have to be an “expert” photographer to feel very welcome. All you require is an interest in photography. Whether you are a beginning photographer or seasoned enthusiast, use a compact camera or a digital SLR, we can help you obtain better results.
Why not come and meet us!!
Meetings
We meet every other Friday from 7:45pm in the Henfield Hall, BN5 9DP.
Find the program here.
About Us
Henfield Camera Club was formed in 1963 when members were working mainly in black and white prints and 35mm slides.
Today, the majority of our members work in digital. Some of us do our own printing, whilst the majority take advantage of the club’s superb projection equipment which was purchased through a grant from The National Lottery. The funding also enabled us to buy a Nikon film scanner and colour management equipment, both of which are available on loan to our members.
Henfield Camera Club has always had the reputation of being one of the friendliest clubs in Sussex.
Our season starts from mid-September until the end of May. We meet on alternate Fridays – usually at the excellent Henfield Hall – meetings starting at 7.45 for 8.00pm
There is a very modest annual subscription of £15 for full members, and £8 for non-competing partners of a member. In addition, there is a small attendance fee of £2, which includes light refreshment.
Programme
We try to create a programme with a combination of lectures and presentations from visiting speakers and club members, practical evenings and competitions.
We also hold monthly competitions for prints and digitally projected images (PDIs), with both open subjects and set subjects. There are sections for both novice and more advanced workers, to create a more even “playing field”. Competitions are a really excellent way to learn more, and to improve your photography through friendly and constructive appraisal of your images by a highly experienced photographer.
